William Joseph DeSpain

William Joseph was born on March 19th, 1813 in Green Co.,Kentucky.  William Joseph's father was Peter DeSpain and his mother was Nancy Skaggs.  His paternal grandfather was John DeSpain and his paternal grandmother is Susan Scott; his maternal grandparents are Henry Skaggs and Mary Thompson. He had twelve brothers and four sisters, named John M., Hiram, William Marshall, Stephen, Mark, James Simpson, Harrison, Silas, George Washington, Andrew Drury, Thomas, Edmund, Susanna Elizabeth, Mary, Nancy and Lucy Ann.  He was the seventh youngest of the seventeen children. He had a half-brother named William Perry.  He died at the age of 64 on December 22nd, 1877 in Omaha,Douglas Co.,Nebraska.

‌William Joseph and Jeanette S. Katherine were married in a religious ceremony on October 10th, 1830.
