Nancy DeSpain

Nancy was born in 1819 in Green Co.,Kentucky.  Nancy's father was Peter DeSpain and her mother was Nancy Skaggs.  Her paternal grandfather was John DeSpain and her paternal grandmother is Susan Scott; her maternal grandparents are Henry Skaggs and Mary Thompson. She had thirteen brothers and three sisters, named John M., Hiram, William Marshall, Stephen, Mark, James Simpson, Harrison, Silas, William Joseph, George Washington, Andrew Drury, Thomas, Edmund, Susanna Elizabeth, Mary and Lucy Ann.  She was the second youngest of the seventeen children. She had a half-brother named William Perry.  She died at the age of 56 in 1875.

‌Nancy and Charles were married in a religious ceremony on July 4th, 1835.  They had a son and five daughters, named Jeriamar Greenbriar, Mary A., Lucy Ann, Susan A., Martha A. and Caroline.
