Thomas DeSpain

Thomas was born on March 19th, 1815 in Green Co.,Kentucky.  Thomas' father was Peter DeSpain and his mother was Nancy Skaggs.  His paternal grandfather was John DeSpain and his paternal grandmother is Susan Scott; his maternal grandparents are Henry Skaggs and Mary Thompson. He had twelve brothers and four sisters, named John M., Hiram, William Marshall, Stephen, Mark, James Simpson, Harrison, Silas, William Joseph, George Washington, Andrew Drury, Edmund, Susanna Elizabeth, Mary, Nancy and Lucy Ann.  He was the fourth youngest of the seventeen children. He had a half-brother named William Perry.  He died at the age of 65 on August 29th, 1880 in Butler,Bates Co.,Missouri.

‌Thomas and Hester Ann were married in a religious ceremony on January 25th, 1837 in Green Co.,Kentucky.
