William Lewis DeSpain 
William Lewis was born on April 24th, 1833 in Green Co.,Kentucky. William Lewis' father was Silas DeSpain and his mother was Abigail Edwards. His paternal grandparents were Peter DeSpain and Nancy Skaggs. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Jesse H., James H., Sarah Elizabeth, Nancy J., Mary Frances and Adaline. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died in Illinois.General Notes
Was a 2nd Lt. in Hobson's Reginment, Union 13th Kentucky Infantry, Co., A, He Deserted. He left his family in 1872 and was never heard from again.
