Nancy J. was born in 1837 in Green Co.,Kentucky. Nancy J.'s father was Silas DeSpain and her mother was Abigail Edwards. Her paternal grandparents were Peter DeSpain and Nancy Skaggs. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William Lewis, Jesse H., James H., Sarah Elizabeth, Mary Frances and Adaline. She was the third oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 50 in 1887.-
