The Harman family were well to do farmers James’s father William [1771} was from a family of 13. The Harman name is common in the High Wycombe area.
When daughter Ann was born, James Harman was working as the foreman or manager at Barford Upper number 122 before in Wycombe and returned there
Ann’s mother died in 1838 and there was one more child John Harman 12 November 1836 who died in 1839. James married Ann Dean in 1838 on the 5th June they had one child John Samuel Harman 1842 -191

Ann's father was Francis Simmonds, a Wheelright, from Oakley Green, Berkshire. I can find no marriage for her, so perhaps she was a widow before she married James.
Francis was still alive in 1841, 75, a Blacksmith at Park Lane, Tilehurst, Berks.
