John Pickles

John was born in 1793 in Foulridge and his baptism took place on September 27th, 1793 at St. Bartholomew's (Colne).¹   John's father was Thomas Pickles and his mother was Matrtha (Matty) Ingham.  His paternal grandparents were Michael Pickles and Margaret. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Ingham, Joseph, Thomas, William, Nancy, Margaret and Barbara.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.
