Mattheus (Matthew) Pickles

Mattheus, known as Matthew, was born in 1730 at Colne and his baptism took place on October 17th, 1730 at St. Bartholomew's (Colne).¹

Matthew's father was Zacharias Pickles and his mother was Elizabeth Duerdin. He had a brother and three sisters, named Samuel, Maria, Jane and Betty. He was the oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 66 in March 1796 at Colne. He was buried on March 30th, 1796 at St. Bartholomew's (Colne).²
