Betty's father was Zacharias Pickles and her mother was Elizabeth Duerdin. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Matthew, Samuel, Maria and Jane.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 2 in December 1746 at Colne.  She was buried on December 15th, 1746 at St. Bartholomew's (Colne).¹
