David was born on February 9th, 1800 in Foulridge and his baptism took place on April 12th, 1801 at St. Bartholomew's (Colne).1  David's father was David Pickles and his mother was Bridget Hartley.  His paternal grandparents were Michael Pickles and Margaret. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Michael, Hannah and Margaret.  He was the second youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 44 in March 1844 in Bradford.  He was buried on March 6th, 1844 in Bradford.2 




David's first family with Jane Oddie

‌David and Jane were married in a religious ceremony on December 31st, 1827 at St. Bartholomew's (Colne).4  They had a daughter named Alice.
