Michael Pickles

Michael was born in 1795 in Foulridge.¹

Birth Notes
- The 1841 census shows Michael is NOT from Lancashire (so probably Yorkshire)
  
  No Baptism for Michael at Colne in 1795, 1796 or 1797, so it does appear he was born elsewhere, although younger and older siblings were born at Foulridge and baptised at Colne.

Michael's father was David Pickles and his mother was Bridget Hartley. His paternal grandparents were Michael Pickles and Margaret. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, David, Hannah and Margaret. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 64 in May 1859 at Colne. His burial was on May 14th, 1859 at St. Bartholomew's (Colne).²

- Michael is the son of David Pickles, a Farmer.
  
  In 1827, Michael, a Hatter and bachelor married Fanny Brown.
  
  In 1841, Michael Pickles (45) is a Hatter at Parliament Street, Colne with assumed daughter Sarah (13). Wife Fanny and daughter Bridget (bap.1830) are missing. Michael is not from Lancashire.
  
  In 1851 Michael (56) is still at Hatter, now at Wendy Bank, Colne and married to Ellen (from Scotland). His daughter Sarah married Abraham Kendall in Shipley in 1848, and now lives there.
  
  Michael died at Colne, 1859, aged 64.
