Joseph Pickles

Joseph was born in April 1820 in Foulridge and his baptism took place on April 23rd, 1820 at St. Bartholomew's (Colne).¹

Joseph's father was Robert Pickles and his mother was Martha Barritt. He had seven half-brothers named William, Isaac, William, Hartley?, Joseph, Robert and Richard. He died at the age of 14 on April 15th, 1834 in Morton (Bingley). His burial was on April 18th, 1834 in Morton (Bingley).²

General Notes
- Joseph was baptised the day his mother was buried.
  
  Joseph must have died, as another Joseph was born in 1836. Its possible that Joseph was adopted by Isaac Pickles, as a Joseph Pickles, son of Isaac died in 1834, aged 14, and there is no baptism for a Joseph son of Isaac around 1820.
  
  It's also prssible he was baptised again as son of Benjamin & Margaret Barrett of Foulbridge (Hatter), possible the mother's patents (TBC).
