Hannah was born in 1771 in Foulridge and her baptism took place on January 6th, 1771 at St. Bartholomew's (Colne).1  Hannah's father was Michael Pickles and her mother was Margaret. She had five brothers and two sisters, named David, Thomas, Henry, Joseph, Benjamin, Isabel and Nancy.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
