in 1911, John Miller Stocks, age 17, was a boarder Joseph and Emily Davies at Birkenhead (his aunt and uncle). Their sons Joseph Arnold (age 10) and Jack Miller (age 6) were also present.
John was a plater and was in the Navy during WW1, from 22 March 1912 for 12 years. He served on the Victory II several times, and also the Renown, Egmont, Venus and other ships.
In 1921, John Miller Stocks b.1893 was with Margaret and daughter Gladys in Rock Ferry, Birkenhead.
In 1939, John M Stocks and Margaret were living at 55 Cobden Street, Birkenhead (near the shipyards in Lower Tranmere). The names of the three children are obscured, but Margaret's father Michael Cocoran, born 23 July 1857 was with them.
