Hannah was born on March 30th, 1791 in Quarmby Cum Lindley and her baptism took place on March 30th, 1791 in Salendine Nook Meeting House (Baptist).¹²

Hannah's father was Joseph Wood and her mother was Rebeccah Sykes. Her paternal grandparents were John Wood and Mrs John Wood; her maternal grandparents were Jonathan Sykes and Mrs Jonathan Sykes. She had a brother and a sister, named James and Mary. She was the oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 73 in December 1864 in Huddersfield.³

General Notes
- Hannah was born at Common End, Piece 2748: Quarmby-cum-Lindley, and baptised at Salendine Nook Meeting House, Huddersfield.
  
  Hannah’s husband Robert had died by 1841 (probaly before 1831), and Hannah was living with George Warde (age ~35, a stone miner) and Christopher Shaw (age ~40, an allotment keeper) at Ley Moor. Living next door was James Wood (b.~1806) and Martha (b.~1806). Next door on the other side was Daniel (b.1818), possibly an older brother, and his wife Sarah Wood (b.1817).
  
  Hannah was a beer seller in 1841 and lived to at least 70 years old. Clearly, beer did her some good!
  
  Hannah (55) was living at Wood End, Golcar in 1851 with daughter Betty (15), Granddaughter Martha (8) and lodger George Ward.
  
  By 1861, George is recorded as the head of household, with Hanna, living at Leymore Bottom, Golcar, Huddersfield.
  
  Probably dead by 1871 when the Dyson family (her daughter) were living alone.
