Mary Kinder

Mary was born in July 1768 in Butternab and her baptism took place on July 16th, 1768 in Almondbury.¹

- Originally thought to be Mary Bleasdall married in Blackburn, but as no other tie to Blackburn, Mary Kinder is a far better match.

Mary's father was William Kinder and her mother was Sarah Taylor. Her paternal grandparents were John Kinder and Ann Smith; her maternal grandparents were Aaron Taylor and Mary Bower. She had two brothers and a sister, named Paul, John and Hannah. She was the second oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 86 in April 1855 in Huddersfield. Her burial was on April 23rd, 1855 in Huddersfield.²²

General Notes
- Father William of Dungeon, Clothier. This must be right as Daniel Crosland's father Jonathan and uncle Joseph were also from Dungeon (near Butternab). Joseph son of William baptised the same year must be another family.
  
  The 1841 census has a Mary Crossland, Shopkeeper in Tong. Could this be her?
  
  In 1851, Mary is still alive in Blase Hill, Huddersfield (where she later died). She has her two nieces Elizabeth (49) and Sarah (45) Crosland with her, with a two servants: cook and housemaid.
