Edward, baptised in 1790 is the only child of John and Elizabeth to be baptised at Quarmby cum Lindley, Yorkshire. It is possible he is a younger brother of Daniel Crossland (see Appleyard Bottomley connection).
In 1841, Edmund and Nancy (50 & 45) were at Huddersfield with William (20), John (20), Elizabeth (15), Martha (10), Richard (13) and Ann (9).
In 1851, Edward and Nancy (60 & 58) were at Huddersfield with Elizabeth (28), Richard (22), Ann (18) and Ellen (16). Appleyard Bottomley (8, nephew) was with them, showing that Edward was a son of Daniel Crosland (before he married Mary Kinder)
In 1861, Edmund (71, Wid) was a farmer of 19 acres as Meltham, Huddersfield with daughter Ann (28), Mary Ann Barber (7, g-dau) and Appleyard Bottomley (17, nephew)
