William Crosland

William was born in 1819 in Austonley.¹

William's father was Edmund (Edward) Crosland and his mother was Nancy Sykes.  His paternal grandparents were John Crosland and Elizabeth.  Daniel Crosland and Mary Kinder were his grandparents through his father's adoption. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Richard, Elizabeth, Martha, Ann and Ellen.  He was the oldest of the seven children.
