      James Crosland, son of Daniel and Mary of Almondbury
James was born on December 14th, 1806 in Berry Brow and his baptism took place on April 7th, 1807 in Highfield (Independent) conducted by Pastor William Moorhouse.1 2  James' father was Daniel Crosland and his mother was Mary Kinder.  His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Crosland and Betty Liversidge; his maternal grandparents were William Kinder and Sarah Taylor. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Charles, Elizabeth, Lucy, Hannah and Mary. He had an adopted brother named Edward.  He died at the age of 79 in June 1886 in Huddersfield.3
