Lilian's father was Arthur Edward Scoffield and her mother was Mary Brockbank. Her maternal grandparents were John Brockbank and Mary Ann Mather. She had six brothers and four sisters, named John, Arthur, Joseph, Walter, Harold, George, Mary, Elizabeth, Hilda and Mercy. She was the nineth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 84 on June 1st, 1988 in Wallasey.²
