William Mather

William was born in November 1838 in Turton and his baptism took place on November 4th, 1838 at St. Peter's (Bolton) conducted by Curate M Argles.¹

Birth Notes

William's father was Joseph Mather and his mother was Sarah Rostron. His paternal grandparents were Solomon Mather and Martha (Matty) Ramsden. He had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Solomon, Joseph, Richard, Ellen and Martha. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He had three half-sisters named Ellen, Ann and Jane. He died as an infant at 2 months old in January 1839 in Turton.¹
