Ellen Mather

Ellen was born in March 1840 in Turton and her baptism took place on May 31st, 1840 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

Birth Notes

Ellen's father was Joseph Mather and her mother was Sarah Rostron. Her paternal grandparents were Solomon Mather and Martha (Matty) Ramsden. She had five brothers and a sister, named James, Solomon, Joseph, Richard, William and Martha. She was the second youngest of the seven children. She had three half-sisters named Ellen, Ann and Jane. She died at the age of 1 in March 1841 in Turton.²
