Nathaniel Mather

Nathaniel was born in July 1860 in Astley Bridge and his baptism took place on July 29th, 1860 at St. Paul's (Astley Bridge).¹²

Nathaniel's father was James Mather and his mother was Susanna (Susan) Whalley. His paternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Hannah Knowles. He had six brothers and four sisters, named William, James, Giles, Richard, Fred, Lewis, Hannah, Ellen, Alice and Rachel. He was the nineth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 22 in March 1883 in Bolton. His burial was on March 14th, 1883.³⁴
