General Notes

19 Jan 1839, John Mather married Margaret Walsh at Blackburn. However this is another couple as ALL the birth records after 1837 reveal Margaret's maiden name was also Mather.  They actually married at Leyland 8 Apr 1833 after Martha had been born: "John Mather and Margaret Mather, both of Withnell"

In 1841, John was a printer at School Lane, Brindle, Leyland with wife Margaret (both 30), and Martha (10), Esther (7), Mary (4) and Ann (1). His mother Ann and siblings were nwighbours.

In 1851 John and Margaret (42 & 41) were at School Lane, Withnell with  Martha (21), Esther (missing), Mary (14), Ann (11), Ralph (8), and Alice (5).
