In 1841, Ann, 60, was living in School Lane, Withnell, Brindle with 10 Mather children. John (a printer) and Margaret (both 30) were neighbours.
In 1851, Ann (Widow, 77) was still at School Lane, a Hand Loom Weaver with daughters Jane (57), Lucy (55), Betty (53), son Alexander (35) and probably grandghildren Lucy (21) and Martha (15), all unmarried and born at Withnell. Ralph and Margaret Mather (29 & 28) and family were next door. and James and Margaret the next house.

Ann and Ralph were married in a religious ceremony on October 25th, 1791 in Leyland by Vicar Thomas Baldwin and witnessed by Elizabeth Mather & Nicholas Plashett.5 They had three sons and six daughters, named James, John, Alexander, Jane, Mary, Sarah, Betty, Peggy and Ann. There are possibly more children.
