Ellen Mather

Ellen was born in April 1855 in Little Bolton and her baptism took place on July 4th, 1855 at St. Peter's (Bolton).^1 2

Ellen's father was Ralph Mather and her mother was Sarah Makin.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Mather and Ellen Rigby. She had a brother and five sisters, named Samuel, Hannah, Alice, Hannah, Sarah and Clara.  She was the oldest of the seven children. She had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Thomas, William, Elizabeth, Alice, Christianna, Ellen and John.  She died at the age of 1 in June 1856 in Bolton.¹
