Alice's father was Ralph Mather and her mother was Rosannah Peak.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Mather and Ellen Rigby. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, William, Christiana and Ellen.  She was the second oldest of the five children. She had a half-brother and six half-sisters, named Samuel, Ellen, Hannah, Alice, Hannah, Sarah and Clara.  She died at the age of 2 in January 1850 in Bolton.  She was buried on January 6th, 1850 in Bolton.^3 4
