5 Aug 1861, Alice Mather, daughter of Thomas Mather a moulder married Alfred Farnworth (illegitimate, a collier) at St Peter, Bolton. Witnesses were her sister and husband Ellen and Robert Leatherbarrow.
In 1881, Alfred and Alice (40 & 41) were at 52 Hole Bottom, Failsworth with Sarah Jane (16), Ellen (10), Alice (7), Alfred (5) and George (3 mo)
Alice and Alfred were married in a religious ceremony on August 5th, 1861 at St. Peter's (Bolton) by Joseph Farrall Wright and witnessed by Robert & Ellen Leatherbarrow.2
