Jessie was born on December 31st, 1884 in Birkenhead.1  Jessie's father was Thomas Brereton and her mother was Ellen Goodman Roberts.  Her paternal grandparents were George Brereton and Jane Hopley; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Goodman Roberts and Ellenor Roberts. She had a brother and four sisters, named George, Ann, Theresa, Ellen and Jane.  She was the oldest of the six children. She had three half-brothers named William, William and Theophilus.  She died as a war casualty, Air Raid, at the age of 56 on July 24th, 1941 in Birkenhead.2

‌Jessie and John were married in a religious ceremony on April 12th, 1908 at St. Mary (Birkenhead) witnessed by Ann Brereton & T Hughes.3  They had seven sons and two daughters, named Thomas, John, George, Frank, Edward, Arthur, George, Jessie and Ellen.  There are no more children.
