Josephine America Surrency

Josephine America was born on February 21st, 1847 in Tattnall Co. GA.¹   Josephine America's father was Samuel D. Surrency and her mother was Elizabeth Kennedy.  Her maternal grandparents were Edward Kennedy and Cynthia Unknown. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Burrell Demere, William Brantley, James Jasper, Jacob Franklin, John Allen, Louisa and Sophronia Ann Florida.  She was the second oldest of the eight children. She had five half-brothers and ten half-sisters, named Robert C., Allen Powell, Samuel D., Henry Jackson, Hampton West, Penelope, Cornelius, Nancy, Charlotte, Sarah, Elizabeth, Caroline Matilda, Martha, Clementine and Emiline.¹
