James Jasper Surrency

James Jasper was born on August 8th, 1857 in Tattnall Co. GA.¹   James Jasper's father was Samuel D. Surrency and his mother was Elizabeth Kennedy.  His maternal grandparents were Edward Kennedy and Cynthia Unknown. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Burrell Demere, William Brantley, Jacob Franklin, John Allen, Louisa, Josephine America and Sophronia Ann Florida.  He was the third youngest of the eight children. He had five half-brothers and ten half-sisters, named Robert C., Allen Powell, Samuel D., Henry Jackson, Hampton West, Penelope, Cornelius, Nancy, Charlotte, Sarah, Elizabeth, Caroline Matilda, Martha, Clementine and Emiline.¹
