Allen Powell Surrency

Allen Powell was born on February 7th, 1825.¹   Allen Powell's father was Samuel D. Surrency and his mother was Elizabeth Copeland. He had four brothers and ten sisters, named Robert C., Samuel D., Henry Jackson, Hampton West, Penelope, Cornelius, Nancy, Charlotte, Sarah, Elizabeth, Caroline Matilda, Martha, Clementine and Emiline.  He was the seventh oldest of the fifteen children. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Burrell Demere, William Brantley, James Jasper, Jacob Franklin, John Allen, Louisa, Josephine America and Sophronia Ann Florida.¹
