Hawise was born about 1210 in Shere, Surrey, England.  Hawise's father was Earl Geoffrey FitzPiers de Mandeville of Essex and her mother was Aveline de Clare.  Her paternal grandparents were Piers de Lutegareshale and Lady Maude de Mandeville of Costow; her maternal grandparents were Roger de Clare and Maud de St. Hilary. She had a brother named John.  She was the older of the two children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named William, Warin and Maud FitzGeoffrey.  She died on August 8th, 1247 in England.

‌Hawise and Reynold were married in a religious ceremony before 1230 in Dunster, Somersetshire, England.  They had two daughters named Lucy and Alice.
