He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Richard, Hugh XI, Guillaume De Lusignan, Matilda, Joan Princess Of and Alice De Lusignan. He rebuilt Westminster Abbey. He ruled from 1216 to 1272. He was 9 years old when he took the throne, and did not takes the reigns of goverment himself until his predecessor was overthrown by the barons in 1234. Baronial discontent simmered, boiling over in 1258 when Henry facing financial disaster attempted to raise large sums of money from his magnates.
Reforms were agreed upon but then renounced by Henry. Simon de Montford lead a rebellion against the King (the baron wars) which was defeated after initial success, thereafter Henry ceeded much of
his power to his son.
