King of England was born on March 25th, 1133 in Le Mans, Anjou, France and his baptism took place in 1150 in France (Duke of Normandy) (aka Henry of Anjou).1 King of England's father was Geoffrey V The Fair Plantagenet and his mother was Mathilde Queen England. His paternal grandparents were Foulques V le Jeune Anjou and Ermengarde of Maine; his maternal grandparents were Henry I "Beauclerc" King of England and Matilda Atheling Princess Scotland. He had a sister named Emma. He was the older of the two children. He had a half-brother named Hamelin Plantagenet Of. He died at the age of 56 on July 6th, 1189 in Chinon Castle, France. PLAC Westminster Abbey, London, EnglandReigned 1154-1189. He ruled an empire that stretched from the Tweed to the Pyrenees. In spite of frequent hostitilties with the French King his own family and rebellious Barons (culminating in the great revolt of 1173-74) and his quarrel with Thomas Becket, Henry maintained control over his possessions until shortly before his death. His judicial and administrative reforms which increased Royal control and influence at the expense of the Barons were of great constitutional importance. Introduced trial by Jury. Duke of Normandy.

HIST HENRY II, WAS BORN IN 1133 TO GEOFFREY V PLANTAGENT AND MATILDA THE EMPRESS, DAUGHTER OF KING HENRY I OF ENGLAND. HE GREW UP IN ANJOU, FRANCE, BUT VISITED ENGLAND AS EARLY AS 1142 TO DEFEND HIS MOTHER'S CLAIM TO THE THRONE OF STEPHEN. EDUCATED HIST HENRY REVITALIZED THE BRITISH EXCHEQUER, ISSUING RECEIPTS FOR TAX PAYMENTS AND LOGGING ACCOUNTS ON ROLLED PARCHMENT. HE REPLACED INCOMPETENT SHERRIFFS, EXPANDING THE AUTHORITY OF ROYAL COURTS, WHICH BROUGHT MORE MONEY TO HIM. A BODY OF COMMON HIST THIS PROCESS OF STRENGTHENING ROYAL COURTS LED TO CONTROVERSY WITH CHURCH COURTS, WHERE MANY FUGITIVES FOUND A SAFE HAVEN AS AS MANY AS 1 IN 50 ENGLISH SUBJECTS QUALIFIED AS CLERICS. HENRY WISHED TO TRANSFER SUCH CASES TO THE ROYAL COURTS, AS HIST THE SONS OF HENRY, HENRY THE YOUNG, RICHARD THE LION- HEART, GEOFFREY, AND JOHN LACK;AND, WERE NEVER SATISFIED AT THEIR FATHERS PLANS IN DIVIDING THE KINGDOM UPON HIS DEATH.
