Foye was born on June 16th, 1914 in Pike Co., AL.1 Foye's father was Joseph Johnston Rushing and her mother was Ella Melissa Spradley. Her paternal grandparents were John Eager Howard Rushing and Eliza Jane Jenerett; her maternal grandparents were Stephen Anderson Spradley and Avarilla Cathrine Castellaw. She had four brothers and a sister, named George Dewey, Albert, J. C., Duard Moody and Mary Kate. She was the youngest of the six children.General Notes
