Ron, Hi there! How wonderful to hear from you...I will gladly share with
you
what I have .... You may not recall but you did me a great favor about a
year ago...30 Aug. 1999. I asked for a Look up on Wade H. THOMAS and
neighboring THOMAS Families in Pike Co., AL and you returned to me a
wealth of information. The information from the 1850/1860 Pike Co., AL
Federal Census was provided to me, by you, you ( Bilko33 @@ aol.com). In
1870, the family is in Bullock
Co., AL just as you suggested...some of them anyway....Talk about coming
round full circle! What you provided sent me in many different
directions. I have discovered so much through many other researchers,
like yourself, who are so willing to share and help when you can, as well
as my own hoofing it to the libraries and digging around. I will send
you some of it tonight....most of this is
not in my program.....it is too recent, it was only a few days ago that I
discovered the Jenerette connection. I am working towards documenting all
of
this info as I can.... note that we do have one obvious difference in
data. ..you just threw a kink in the wheel! Ok...I have Anna Eliza
Thomas, daughter of James and Mary (West) THOMAS. James and Mary are
listed on the 1850 Pike Co., AL census at the Perote P.O.
Family # 1357
James THOMAS-Age 68, NC, Farmer
Mary age 69
Hester Nepair (f) 50, ? note: might this be a house slave? James had 32
slaves at one time....

Parents of James THOMAS and Mary WEST are as of yet unknown....
Where did you have come up with Mollie Welch and the marriage date for the
two of them? Let me say that I have no documentation on Mary, other than
the census information...and a couple of gedcoms. I have James THOMAS b.

Feb. 1772.; d.Thomasville, Pike Co., AL 02 Nov. 1864. and Mary (West)
THOMAS b. 1771, (1779 from another researcher and yet date floating around
is 1799-but this seems very unlikely), NC ; d. 27 Aug. 1859, Thomasville,
Pike Co., AL. Of course, Mollie or Mary could be a nickname...Thomasville
or
Thomas Station later (1870-1880) became known as Iverness. Lying just
outside Perote.
