Richard FitzJohn of Dover was born in 1186 in of Chilham Castle, Kent, England.1   Richard FitzJohn of Dover's father was John Lackland Plantagenet King of England and his mother was Suzanne de Warenne.  His paternal grandparents were Henry II Curtmantle King of England and Eleanor de Aquitaine Dss of Aquitaine; his maternal grandparents were Hamelin Plantagenet and Isabel de Warenne. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Henry III, Richard of Cornwall and Joanna.1
