Artemisia Piper 
Artemisia was born on April 12th, 1893 in Fayette Co.,KY. Artemisia's father was Augustus Bowman Piper and her mother was Lucy Willard Hammond. Her paternal grandparents were William Chauncey Piper and Mary Lavinia Sims. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Edward Sims, James Augustus, Walter Clay, Lewis Allie, George Bowman, Nelle Sanford, Mary Hammond, Lula Allen and Ann Coleman. She was the fifth youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 78 on April 11th, 1972 in Louisville,Jefferson Co.,KY. She was buried in Lexington Cemetery,Lexington,Fayette Co.,KY.General Notes
