Elizabeth's father was George Glendinning and her mother was Isabella J. Thomson. Her maternal grandparents were Archibald Thomson and Margaret Paterson. She had four brothers and a sister, named Archie, Robert, Alexander, George and Maggie. She was the third oldest of the six children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named George and Elizabeth. She died at the age of 76 on May 16th, 1964 in Queensland.
