Spurgeon Allen 
Spurgeon was born on June 24th, 1909 in Indian Gap,Texas/ Hamilton Co. Texas. Spurgeon's father was Martin Travis Allen and his mother was Lillian Janice Giles. His paternal grandparents were William Barrett Travis Allen and Mary Elizabeth Snider; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Milton Giles and Margaret Clementine McCowen. He had a brother and four sisters, named Sheldon C., Thelma Elizabeth, Floy, Doris Eugenia and Janice Waldene. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 88 on October 3rd, 1997.1 General Notes
