I'm unsure of the Germany referance. The name is German definetely, so they came from Germany some time or another.

On another occasion, a 9-year old boy, son of Rudolph Snider, was carried away by the Indians, who were followied by the settleers down Dent's Run and along the Monongahela River as far as the mouth of Robinsons's Run, where they lost the trail. Nine years later the boy returned, but his mother who had long since given him up as dean, refused to recognize him until she had identified him by a scar on his foot sustained as a lad before his capture by the Indians."
Doll's Run named from his nickname "Doll" Snider ---- Originally called Husk's Run the Snider's Run and now Doll's Run. At one time also called Rudolph's Run

More settlers came crowding in as soon as conditions became safer and soon the land was all occupied. An interesting heading in an old surveyor's book dated 1784-5 reads: "Surveyed for Rudolph Snither (Snider) 369 acres of land on both sides of Husk run a Drean of Dunkers Creek" This Husk run; so named from Frederick Husk who had patented 200 acres near its mouth soon came to be called Snither's (Snider's) Run, or from his nickname, Doll Snider's Run and finally Dolls Run. Hannah, a daughter of Rudolph born March 5, 1780 was married to Christopher Core in 1797, uniting two of the oldest pioneer families. The Rev. John Willey performed the ceremony
Other Children of Rudolph Snider, (who is said to have married a Morgan), include: Moses, born June 25, 1775; Elizabeth, born June 20, 1777; married Levi Morris; Mary born December f25, 1782, married Joseph Sutton; Rebecca, born July 19, 1797, married Samuel Lemley; Asa, born Dec. 26, 1789; John, born July 3, 1791; Margaret, born Aug. 13, 1792, married Isaac Lemley; Jeremiah; and others. Jeremiah was twice married, once to Anna Rich, and reared a family of 13 children, one of whom, A. Snider, born Oct. 8, 1813, was an early Blacksmith.

Samuel Lemley and Joseph Sutton inheriting through Marriage a portion of the Rudolph Snider estate, transferred their shares ammounting to 40 acres, to Christopher Core, on September 12, 1808.
George Lemley settled north of the Mason & Dixon Line along Dunkard Creek in 1797. Born in 1742, he died June 11, 1813. His wire Catherine Yoho, survived until Nov. 5, 1825. They had a large family of children includes: Mary, John, Jacob, Samuel, Susanna, Rachel, Peter, David and Isaac. Samuel married Rebecca (born July 19, 1787) a daughter of Rudolph Snider.
