Joan was born about 1380.  Joan's father was Thomas II de Holland and her mother was Alice FitzAlan of Arundel.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas de Holland and Joan Plantagenet the Fair Maid of Kent; her maternal grandparents were Richard II Copped Hat FitzAlan of Arundel and Eleanor Plantagenet of Lancaster. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, John, Edmund, Eleanor I, Elizabeth, Margaret, Eleanor II and Bridget.  She died on April 12th, 1434.
