Matilde (Maud) was born about 1224.  Matilde (Maud)'s father was Henry II the Courageous of Brabant and her mother was Maria Hohenstaufens of Germany.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry I Lothier of Brabant and Ida (Maud) of Boulogne; her maternal grandparents were Philip II Hohenstaufen of Swabia and Irene of Byzantium. She had two brothers and a sister, named Henry III of, Henry I the Child of and Elizabeth of.  She was the oldest of the four children. She had a half-brother named Heinrich I das Kind of.  She died on September 29th, 1288.


Matilde (Maud)'s first family with Robert Capet I de Artois

‌Matilde (Maud) and Robert Capet I were married in a religious ceremony on June 14th, 1237.  They had a son and a daughter, named Robert Capet II and Blanche Capet.
