Maud was born about 1282 in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, Wales.  Maud's father was Patrick II de Chaworth and her mother was Isabella de Beauchamp.  Her paternal grandfather was Patrick I de Chaworth and her paternal grandmother is Hawise de Londres; her maternal grandparents were William de Beauchamp and Maud FitzJohn. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Hugh the Younger, Philip, Isabel and Margaret.  She died before December 3rd, 1322.  She was buried in Mottisford Priory.
