Robert VII was born in July 1243 in Annandale, Dumfrieshire, Scotland.  Robert VII's father was Robert VI the Competitor de Bruce and his mother was Isabel de Clare.  His paternal grandparents were Robert V de Bruce and Isobella Dunkeld le Scot of Huntington; his maternal grandparents were Gilbert the Younger de Clare and Isabella Marshal. He had three brothers and a sister, named Richard, William, Bernard of Conington and and Laderina.  He was the second oldest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Christina.  He died in Palestine.  He was buried in Abbey of Holm Cultram.


Robert VII's first family with Marjorie of Carrick

‌Robert VII and Marjorie of were married in a religious ceremony in 1271 in Turnberry Castle, Strathclyde, Scotland.  They had five sons and five daughters, named Nigel, Thomas, Edward Bruce of, Alexander, Robert I Bruce of, Mary, Christina, Isabel, Maud and Margaret.
