David I the Saint of was born in Scotland.  David I the Saint of's father was Malcolm III Caennmor Dunkeld of Scotland and his mother was Margaret the Exile Atheling.  His paternal grandparents were Duncan I the Gracious MacCrinan of Scotland and Aelflaed (Sybil) of Northumbria; his maternal grandparents were Edward the Outlaw Atheling of England and Agatha von Braunschweig\Brunswick of Hungary. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Edward of, Edmund I Dunkeld of, Ethelred of, Edgar Dunkeld of, Alexander I the Fierce of, Matilda Edith Atheling of and Mary of. He had three half-brothers named Duncan II of, Donald of and Malcolm of.  He died on May 24th, 1153 in Carlyle/Carlisle, Cumbria/Cumberland, Scotland.  He was buried in Buried in front of the high altar.
