Isabel was born on November 8th, 1226 in Gloucestershire, England.  Isabel's father was Gilbert the Younger de Clare and her mother was Isabella Marshal.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard FitzRoger de Clare and Amicia FitzRobert of Gloucester; her maternal grandparents were William the Protector Marshal and Isabel Fitz Richard Strongbow de Clare. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Richard, William, Gilbert, Amicia and Agnes. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Henry of, Nicholas of, John of and Isabella of.  She died at the age of 37 on July 10th, 1264 in Priory Lochmaben, Dumfries, Scotland.


Isabel's family with Robert VI the Competitor de Bruce

‌Isabel and Robert VI the Competitor were married in a religious ceremony on May 12th, 1240 in Scotland.  They had four sons and a daughter, named Robert VII, Richard, William, Bernard of Conington and and Laderina.
