Robert II Bossu was born after 1104 in Normandy, France or Leicester, Leicestershire, England.  Robert II Bossu's father was Robert I de Meulan de Beaumont and his mother was Isabella Capet de Crepi of Vermandois.  His paternal grandparents were Roger de Beaumont and Adeline de Meulan; his maternal grandparents were Hugh I Magnus the Great de Crepi of France and Adelar de Vermandois. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Hugh the Poor, Waleran, Adeline de Beaumont of, Aubreye, Agnes, Amicade, Maude, Eleanor and Isabel (Elizabeth). He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Rainald, Ralph, William III, Gundrada, Ella and Adelaide (Ada).  He died on April 5th, 1168 in Leicester, Leicester, England.

‌Robert II Bossu and Amice de Waer de Gael of were married in a religious ceremony about November 1120.  They had five sons and three daughters, named Geoffrey, Henry, John, William, Robert III FitzPernel, Isabel, Margaret de Paganel and Adela.
