William Taylor Shields 
William Taylor was born on November 3rd, 1846 in Monroe County, Indiana. William Taylor's father was William Henry Harrison Shields and his mother was Mary Ellen Hudlin. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Shields and Sarah "Sally" Masterson. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named David Thomas, John Wesley, Joseph H., George E., Mary Elizabeth, Martha Jane, Sarah Angelina, Lucy A., Julia C., Laura A. and Belle Marie. He was the third oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 88 on February 21st, 1935 in Monroe County, Indiana.
